ONE YEAR AGO......

It's amazing how this day started eternity! It's hard to believe it has been year! Best year of my life! I love him more and more each day! There hasn't been a day that has gone by that Scott hasn't made me laugh right out laugh about something! He brings me pure joy and I'm so lucky to have him!

Birthday Fun!

The Birthday Girl! I had a hard time with her birthday.... knowing that my was coming next! It is AMAZING to think that Kristen and I have been friends for over TEN, yes, TEN years now! Seems like yesterday she was giving our class the big graduation speak, just yesterday that we conquered the Seattle bus system, just yesterday shared everything as roommates and just yesterday that we never thought we'd be this old! Time fly's when you are having fun! And it's always fun when Kristen is around! I sure LOVE this girl!

Callie is one of the funniest little girls I have ever met! She is all girl! She is all about pink, hello kitty, and princesses! I love her dark brown eyes and her big smile! I love how she is always saying cheese for the camera, but rarely ever looking at the camera! I love when the first thing she asks me is "where Scott?" when he isn't in sight! And she always gives me this 'forget you' look when I say "he's at work!"

KAUAI!!!!

Here is only 1/3 of the millions of pictures we took while we were in Hawaii! I was going to do a break down day by day, but that would have taken forever!

Tunnels beach! I could spend the rest of my life on this beach, never look back, and never feel like I am miss out on anything! It was by far a favorite! Just breath taking! The sand made this really cool noise, I was obsessed with it! Snorkel was more than we could ask for! We swam right next to a sea turtle!

Jurassic Park anyone?

According to this book we had Queen Bath is one of the best places to snorkel.... just a death wish is more like it! The hike down was awesome and the waves crashing in were just unbelievable! We serious took over 100 pictures and like an hour of video! I have more respect for the ocean after waiting these waves!

The Grand Canyon of the Pacific! Here is our breath taking view! We couldn't see a thing! It was a little disappointing since it was a long, dizzy road! But we took a different road down a got a look back up into it! We didn't fully miss out on seeing it!

We kayaked up this beautiful river, hiked along a pig trail and ended up at a beautiful waterfall!

This was the trail to a fun little waterfall that we jumped off (pictures below)!

Snorkel trip to the Na Pail Coast. It was beautiful, these cliffs were huge! Fun crew + endless drinks + some wild waves + some rad looking fish + some breath taking views = one fabulous morning!

The FOOD was beyond delightful! There was a huge variety!

Noodle House in Kapaa! I should have out my hand in the picture or something because these plates where huge!

Puka Dogs! The travel channel did show on them! That was the best hot dog I have ever had in my life!

This was one of my favorite pictures! As I was taking this an older man walked around the corner, looked at Scott and says “what the hell is that!?” Hence the big smile on Scott’s face!

SCOTT'S BIRTHDAY!!!

It was a crazy! I for some reason thought I could frost his cake on my lunch break.... ha ha! I was late! Then we were suppose to meet the gang in Orem and I got out of work super late! So it was a rough start but ended up being fabulous! Scott wanted to go to Pirate Island Pizza! Lucky for us it was Karaoke night! We got cramped into this room with a gazillion others and just had a ball! We rocked at the games scoring Scott lots of tickets! He was nice and made everyone pick something!

When I make a cake I like to know what frosting the birthday kid wants with the cake. Then the ideas comes! I think Scott was trying to throw me off by saying German Chocolate, so the coconut frosting, but a brilliant idea come to mind almost at once! LITTLE BIG PLANET! It's a super fun video game that we play! If you have no idea what the game is about the it just looks like I made a ginger bread man with a funky something on it.... stomach! SO i figured I better post a picture of the little guy that you play on the video game!

I had SO much fun shopping for him! I didn't know how to narrow the gift ideas down so I decided I'd get him 27 things since he was turning 27! We opened them at about midnight but it was so fun to see his face with each one!

The big move out of our first place!
Yes, I did cry!
But it was a blessing from the start!
I was getting more and more ornery each week with commuting back and forth to work! I'm a baby I know! But we Scott being mostly done with school and were he is working in Draper, it only seemed fitting to move north where we will both be closer to work.
I had given up hope that we would be able to get out of our contract. I was thinking about all the other people we knew that were moving out for the summer and I figured we'd waiting to long to put on contract up for sale. I was wrong! We only had if on KSL for less that 24 hours before we had someone willing to take over! I was shocked and so thankful!!! It was a couple just getting married and it was fun thinking about how we had to once go through the head ache of finding a place! We loved living there, but rent is some much cheap in Jeff and Lisa's basement! :) We haven't really started looking for places up here, I just hope we don't get to comfortable in the basement!

I'm pretty sure if you jumped out of a bush and asked us how long we'd been married, we'd both start counting "July.... August....September....." on our fingers trying to remember! We have never been one for remember anniversaries of anything! I even forgot when we hit 6 months! Scott remembered but didn't remember to tell me! So needless to say one of our most FAVORITE things ever is a picnic in the park with a good book! We were looking for an excuse to get out and I pulled the anniversary of us getting engaged! So exciting! ha ha!I loved taking these pictures up Provo Canyon, we're going to miss living so close to it!

My dad turned 60 the middle of April!
I have always been a daddy's girl! I have a pretty big soft spot in my heart for him! I don't think there is anyone that I admire more then him (well besides Scott of course!). He has taught me some of the biggest lessons I have ever learned so far in my life. Hard to believe that he is now an old man at 60!

It was a really fun weekend. My sister flew out with her youngest baby and surprised him for the weekend. We complied some stories from friends and family and made a book of some of our favorite memories of him. I stole all the pictures I could from their house and it was really fun going though some of his pictures! I think my favorite era is the perm hair styles!
This family photo just makes me laugh! My dad is amazing when it comes to funny sayings, silly poems, or hilarious stories! I'm sure in this picture he is saying "fuzzy pickles" to make sure we are smiling. One of the classic lines from him.... "I only like two kinds of pie, Hot and Cold!"........ and there are countless other sayings that I can't even imagine how to spell!

He is such an amazing Grandpa! The kids just adore him! I remember when Codie the oldest grandchild was born and I got a whole new view of my father! He was making all these faces that I had never see before and making all these noises!

I think part of me has held off writing about my Grandma for so long because it is just so personal! But this turned into one of the most spiritual experiences of my life that I almost feel selfish for not talking about it.

My Grandma Dorothy was a woman who I loved and adored for as long as I could remember. She helped shape me into who I am today. It has been over a year since she has been gone but I still miss her. Not as much as I used to since my family had the opportunity to complete her temple work the first part of April. The temple was full of coming and goings from my siblings and cousins. We decided to do all the work in one day and many of them are parents so it was a matter of juggling the little ones. My uncle Keith made sure that everyone that was able to come was given the chance to help out with some part of the work. Tears of joy simply filled our eyes as Keith said her name while in the font. Pure happiness came over my entire being.

My sister had commented a few weeks before “I just hope she is ready!” I struggled with this thought for a day or so and then finally got the impression that she was more than ready. She always believed in Christ but never decided on one faith; she was religious in her own way. I think she had countless family members on the other side helping her along. I can’t help but feel that she was able to check in on her grandchildren now and then and have the opportunity to feel of their testimonies and love that they have for the Savior. I even had the impression that she has listened in on a few mission discussions with my cousin who is currently serving. As I sat next to the font surrounded by family, I knew she was there. I could feel her presence.

There seemed to be a little hiccup before every part, but it all came together. Everything worked itself out. My mom and Keith are both converts to the church so this was a very touching moment for all to see them finally sealed to their parents. My Grandma and Grandpa had an incredible love for each other. My Grandpa Ken passed when I wasn’t even a year old but I could feel of their deep love for each other through the stories that were told, and by that twinkle in my Grandma’s eye every time Ken’s name was mentioned. She loved him. She lived for over 20 years as a widow, always missing him, always sharing her love for him. “He was a great lover” is one of the greatest lines she ever said to me (that is a story for another day). Being in the sealing room I once again felt pure joy run through me as they were sealed together for time and all eternity. They were there. I’m sure they were all smiles like we were. What a wondrous plan our Father in Heaven has for us. I feel beyond blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I am grateful that I know I can be with my family forever. Yes, I still miss her, but I know she is busy on the other side! She still has many more great-grandchildren to prepare and to send off.

Adalynn Emily is here! We saw Holly the Sunday before the baby came and she looked ready, yet still had about two weeks! So we thought! My mom called and said “she looks just like Mallory!” I laughed thinking that Barb didn’t have her glasses on. We went to see the little doll a few days later and well…. Barb was right, really right! She looks just like her sister! One thing that I love is her LONG fingers! Mallory had the same thing! They are just so tiny and so long and so cute! As for the middle name, I wish I could take all the credit but Holly has a little sister named Emily and she put in a good word for us! Thanks Emily!

I know that we are dorks for LOVING Boyz II Men, but they are just so darn good! We hit up WENDOVER a few weekends ago and danced the night away! If they come nearby, GO see them! It's worth it! I can promise that! I think we may have converted Brad and Melissa!
They announced that they are doing a Boyz II Men cruise next February! If we weren't going to Hawaii I would have booked our tickets that night! But maybe I can talk Scott into it between now and then!
I just pray these videos work so you can get a small taste of how delicious they are! And Scott might be angry that I put that! :) But delicious just fits so well....

The last few weeks been filled with stress and blessings! Ending of one job and (thankfully) the start of a new one! I was treated well with Barnes Bank but it feels great to be in a new position! Looking back it’s a huge blessing in disguise! I’ve been surprised by the difference between a Credit Union and a Bank! You’d think I would have known that already but the last few weeks I have come to feel the difference! Getting the lingo down between the two seems like it’s been the hardest thing! It makes sense in my brain but I’m not quite able to spit things out clearly yet! :) Still call things by the wrong name, or make my own words up! It’s been a matter of ‘out with the one and in with the new!’ And it’s been interesting to see how certain things I could do on my own at the Bank, I can’t do by myself at the Credit Union. Then how certain things at the Credit Union I can do on my own that I would not have been able to do at the Bank! It’s been awesome learning how to do loans! Lots of fun! The peeps that I work with have been great at answering questions and getting me going! They are a lot of fun to work with. The drive has been killing me! I have more road rage then I ever thought possible! Anyways that it in a tiny nut shell! Need a loan, come see me! (It’s late and I feel like my grammar is horrible! Sorry if that’s a tough read!)

Trey is TWO and cute as can be! Libby is up from Texas with the kids and we haven’t seen them since last summer so it’s fun seeing how they have changed so much in just a few months. Breena is just this cute little girl with a great sense of humor and it is fun seeing some of her gymnastic skills that she has learned! Trey is all boy! Wrestling, throwing balls and talking up a storm since we have last seen him. It will be hard to see them leave again but we have loved being able to see so much of them!

Random story! It’s long – not really worth reading unless you are bored at work or something! So last week I went into FedEx-Kinko’s to get copies for a little project that I am doing! I was super annoyed the first five minutes of being in there and thought – I should start a list of places to blog about that I hate going into (like the Best Buy in Orem! Gurr… Another story for another day)!!! I walked up to one counter with my folder of things and pulled out the two things that I need and set the folder down on the counter and start explaining what I need help with. So as I am explaining what I need help with this girl keeps picking up my folder and trying to open it, so I keep putting my hand on it, talking more and moving it. She totally is looking at like I’m speaking Germany, and then she reaches for my folder AGAIN! At this point I am so annoyed, which I like to think I am a pretty patient person, but man, this girl is not getting it! I basically slam my hand down on my own folder and pulled it off the desk. This was enough to get her attention I guess because she then looks at me and says, “she can help you with that over there….” and points to another girl. I kindly smile so I don’t yell and walk over to this other girl. I am caution not to put my folder on the counter in fear of this girl wanting to look inside as well! This girl was nice but basically told me it would be fifteen dollars for her to print the four things that I needed! Really you are going to charge me that much for this?!??! Yeah right! So I’m like look – I can use card stock in the machines over there and do it myself? She like…. I guess so….. I wanted so bad to talk to a manager or something (once again so not like me to want to do that)! But I just walked over to the copier and started working on my little project. At this point I needed some scissors so I go to the like island thing that has all the supplies and there is this old man in his 80’s maybe and he has papers everywhere! So we made eye contact and I smiled and at that point he started talking about all the paper. He was copying a book “A Voice of Warning” one that the early missionaries of the church used. This addition was over 100 years old. So needless to say I talked to this old man for about 45 minutes! All about church history and random life stories! I know I am a complete dork to talk to an old man for so long about church history! But the funny thing is that next thing I know I am writing down my address for this man to send me some papers! And then I’m asking for his to mail him something! Dork, I know! But this little old man completely turned my negative experience at FedEx Kinko’s into one that I will never forget! Dear old man Lynn! Odds are I will never see him again in this life, but we might be pen pals for a while!

I tried! I have always disliked (hated seemed to strong, even if it is more fitting) Valentine's Day! Even as a kid I don't remember liking it every much! Except for in the 5th grade when my mom bought me some new overalls! I'm not sure why I have never liked it! I don't remember any traumatic experience or anything! And Barb was always great at having fun treats at home! Last year when Scott and I were dating, we ended up watching The Godfather with all my roommates for Valentine's Day! I remember him being so dear and trying to at least talk me into going to dinner... I didn't give in! So this year being married I figured that I needed to give it another shot! To go all out! I decorated (picture above), I baked a few things, I made some cards, actually bought Scott a present! All in all the day was okay, and then I got deathly ill that night! Okay not really deathly ill but a painful ill! It was one Valentine's I won't forget! And needless to say.... I still don't care for Valentine's Day!

We had a SUPER fun weekend, which was so needed!
Friday we ended up going to the BOTTOMLESS PIT!!!
It was FREEZING!!!!!! There was a group of about 30 people (singles, which was odd to be surrounded by them again!) and it got pretty scary with quite a few people out there on the bars!! It was to dark to get any good pictures of it, but here is a sample of the fun! Or stupidity! You decide!

Sub For Santa was a humbling experience! Scott’s uncle takes it on every year and his family goes above and beyond! We all met early Saturday morning at some building at BYU (they are all the same to me!), and I literally had my breath taken away as we turned down one hall. Things were just piled down this hall which seemed to go forever! Each pile was for a family and contained so much more than presents! There were bags of flour, sugar, rice, and beans, containers of oil for them, canned foods, soaps, a basket made for each mother that had wonderful things for moms, school supplies, hygiene kits, and of course presents for the kids! It was unbelievable! Everyone was just smiling as we loaded up our cars! You couldn’t help but smile! We got to deliver to two families and you just walk away with the best feeling in the world! Both families had single moms and you could see the gratitude that they had. Plus the kids were just so darn cute! Lisa was calling one kid by name and he said “hey, how do you know my name?!” She was cute and said "someone named Santa told me"! I have set my goals higher for next year to help out more for Sub For Santa! (Thanks Melissa for letting me steal pictures!)

After we went to the Family Tree for scones and some fabulous breakfast foods!

Nothing says Christmas like a Murder Mystery dinner! Our cute friend Andrea bought the fun game so we had a little friends Christmas party! It was a LOT of fun! There were four scenes and each had quite a twist to it! One scene relieved that my character (Candice who went by Candy), was running from the Mafia! Hence, all the plastic surgery she had been having! I didn't bother trying to get my seat belt on riding over! Scott’s character (Robbie) turned out to be the real father of another character there, so he had an affair with the woman that was poisoned and dead at our dinner table! Oh so many lies! Oh so much fun! Cheers!

And nothing sets the holiday mood more than a walk through Temple Square! Merry Christmas! Hope it's the best one yet!

I just tried to type out all of the fun and exciting things that we have done the last few weeks to try on catch up on this blogging busy! I got bored writing it so I figured you’d be even more bored reading it! Not that we have been doing boring things, lots of fun things have happened! I decided to make a short condensed list! Hope it makes sense and it isn't to boring!

Thanksgiving was a treat over at Grandma and Grandpa Elder’s! Lots of people and lots of food! Fun to see everyone!

Jeff added some shelves to our kitchen! Looks great and it has made a world of difference! Not sure if the land lords will love it, but I love it!!!

Had a little get together with some friends to watch King of Kong: a Fist Full of Quarters. An AWESOME documentary! You Tube has a little preview! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMJZ-_bJKdI if you liked that you will love watching the whole thing!

House is decorated! Stocking are hung (the best they can be)! We had the great debate about getting a tree… then realized we didn’t really have the space for one and they get really cheap after Christmas! So we are getting through this year with our Charle Brown!

Ogden light parade! Fun! This is the night my camera met the sidewalk. Sidewalk won! I’m now asking Santa for a new camera! My fingers are crossed!

We saw ‘This Is It’ with Michael Jackson and we have been listening to MJ non-stop! Love it! Scott bought a DVD of one of his concerns and it is insane! The crowd is going nuts, girls crying, people passing out and just the amount of people there is unreal! And he is just unbelievable! We have decided that we would have paid a large sum to have seen one of his concerts! Might have given a kidney……

I have been having really fun flashbacks of last December when Scott and I first started dating! He helped me out a ton last year with our ward sub-for-Santa and we spent some long hours deciding what to get in Wal-mart! (Nothing says love more than the aisles of Wal-mart!) Part of the reason I say that is because we are delivering a sub-for-Santa this weekend and I am just so excited! There is just something about it that thrills my soul! I hope this is something that we do every year! I love this time and the happiness that comes with it! How grateful I am for our Savior and His birth! What a wonderful thing to celebrate! His life is just so amazing to read about. It seems like Christmas came so fast this year so I am trying to enjoy every minute of it before it slips away! Hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying this wonderful time of the year!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARB!
Shout out to mom on her birthday! I think this one might be the most disappointing one yet for her! She is suppose to be in Oregon right now showering Ashley’s kiddos with kisses, but got phenomena earlier this week and couldn’t go! We celebrated with a purse cake and ice cream at the dunes for her, all the while thinking that we wouldn’t be seeing her! But lucky for me we get to play (as much as you can with phenomena) tomorrow!
Mom I just love you and can’t thank you enough for all the things you have thought me in my life! Some of my favorite things you have taught and shown me are: how to giggle til I cry or pee! To always find the bright side of every situation! To work hard and play hard! To cook, and sew and how to spot clean a house! How there is great joy that comes from serving the Lord and His children! And to drive a car home at the age of twelve! Just of few of the things you have taught me, and all of them so priceless! Not only do I think that you are the best mom, I also think you are the best grandma! I love the interaction that you have with your grandkids and the love that you have for them. Hope turning 50 again is as great as all the others! Love you!

I love sand! Last weekend we had the chance to hang out with my Fam at the dunes! So much fun, so much sand, so much good FOOD!I was so excited to go, it almost felt like Christmas morning! It was just a blast to just be with the family! It's been a few years since we have had this many of us down there at once! And the first time Scott has been down with us! It was so fun seeing the kids just playing and they have gotten so good at riding!!! Codie and Carson did awesome! Carson had a good crash, but was back on it a few hours later! I love to see my brothers carrying on some family tradition! I have many childhood memories with family vacations at the dunes, so it was fun seeing my nieces and nephew having those same experiences! I think Scott got sick of me talking about what it was like for me down there as a kid! I couldn't help but load up my camera with pictures! And we couldn't have asked for nicer weather either!

BOYZ II MEN CONCERT!!!!

They seriously put on the best show! These Boyz not only have some of the greatest songs, they also have some of the greatest dance moves!

I can't thank my sister-in law Mindy for standing in line and fighting off the crowds to get us free tickets! Only cost was paying to get into the Fair!

Funny Story - Scott and I were with the same group of people last year when Boyz II Men played in Orem! We remember talking to each other, and then he claims that I didn't give him the time of day after this other boy arrived! Which was true, but he also had someone there that was yearning for his attention! So I'm not the only one to blame! Who knew we'd be married a year later and going to their concert again! Life is sure funny! This time it was a lot more fun being married!

I got nervous on the way up watching this huge storm follow us up the freeway! But as Mindy stated - even the clouds like Boyz II Men, the clouds went just south of us!

My camera is not the greatest but you can still see the smiles on our faces!!!

I was hoping to get the videos from last year posted - but they won't work! I'm sure U-Tube has some! I'll see if I can find out later!

I love Fairs! But there's just something about the State Fair that is the best! Maybe it's just more crowded so the people watching never gets old, or maybe it's Chet's amazing ability to hypnotize a goat with his plastic sack, or maybe it's me petting a calf before I realize the 50 'do not touch' signs that surround them, or the man eating pig, or the lights of all the rides, or the beautiful flower growing contest, or .....I'm not sure while I think it's so much better than all the other, but I do know they for sure have the best funnel cake!

All you need is LOVE! Continued!

LABOR OF LOVE – Labor Day was a fabulous day! We meet my parents in Heber for my FAVORITE breakfast place! The HUB CAFE!!! (well, second favorite! Doug n’ Emma’s still is King!) So loaded with grease but so good! (We actually discovered it on our honeymoon, luckily it wasn’t the first place we went to or I would have asked Scott to go everyday we were up there!) My dad got telling some good stories though, the drive was beautiful and it was a treat to see them! Later that day we got our antenna to work thanks to Scott’s parents, the internet was hooked up and we had a fabulous dinner! All in all – the perfect Labor Day!

PARK Love! We use to make out in parks (in the backseat of course), now we are the boring old couple that you see reading in the park. This has become a new weekly tradition (or one that we are trying to make a weekly tradition!) Love this relaxing time together! It’s so nice to just sit on a blanket and read next to each other! We even went and watched part of a little league football game! Scott comment was that we better have at least one boy!

CODIE Love! I love this girl! Codie turned 9 and it made feel old! She is such a sweetheart, always willing to help, always includes everyone and the best mini-mom I’ve ever seen! She loves school, and reads at a high reading level then I do! I have loved watching her grow up and having her be such a big part of my life! With her being the first grandchild it made me have a whole new love and respect for my parents. Who knew that my mom would love sleepovers after all, and I had no idea my dad could make so many faces and funny noises! I’m excited to see where life takes Codie, I think she has a lot going for her, even if she is only 9!

And I have to say that I love Carson for introduced me to a new fun game – tissue fights! Oh he is all boy!

BAKING Debt Love! Scott and I were trying to decide what to make for desert for family dinner on Sunday and we stood by the eggs in Macey’s for 15 minutes telling each other our ideas on how to execute this masterfully delicious plan we had come up with! I couldn’t help but giggle when I realized how long we had been standing there! We ended up making a peach and raspberry cake – not our favorite, but it still turned out good! I love what a good cook Scott is and the ideas that he comes up with!

FAR AWAY Love! We had dinner with Scott’s family on Sunday and I got sad thinking that Brenna is gone to Texas and can’t play with chalk on the driveway with me! Strange to be 25 and have a love for chalk? Next summer when she is back though, I’ll have the chalk ready!

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE - we walked out of the temple to an amazing sunset! My camera is not top of the line so I didn't get a great shot, but the timing and setting of it all was just perfect!

BOOK Love! I started a new serious and I feel like I am in the 4th grade again! If you are looking for a fun easy read consider Fablehaven! Highly entertaining! Scott teases me for this, but it’s worth it!

Last and Definitely Not Least – is BYU FOOTBALL LOVE!!! I knew when I married Scott that he was a huge BYU football fan, but I didn’t realize the extent till the season start! Ha ha! Oh that was a new experience! I have never seen that much emotion in one person before! Watching the Oklahoma game, I’ve never prayed so hard in my life for someone to win a game! I didn’t want to see his reaction if they lost in the last few minutes! I knew that as high as his excitement got, it could easily swing the other way! The out come was better then expected and he fell asleep with a grin on his face, woke up the next morning with a grin on his face, and somehow that grin managed to stay on his face for the whole next day! Saturday’s game should be fun! Florida! He found out his tickets on are the three row! Yahoo! I got so excited for him – then I started secretly wishing for our friend Corby to go into labor that day so I could steal her husband’s ticket! This BYU football love that he has must be contagious!
